Four Dead In Illegal Mine Collapse In India’s Jharkhand | WION | World News

Four people died and many others were left injured in an illegal mine collapse in India’s eastern Jharkhand, local media reported on Saturday (June 05). The son of a victim who died in the accident alleged that there was a serious security lapse on part of Central Coalfields Limited, which led to the casualties. Though the overall number of accidents have progressively decreased in India, coal mining remains one of the most dangerous professions in the country. Earlier in the year, three miners died inside a flooded coal mine in a remote district of northeastern Assam state.
